Coal Engineering uses modern fabrication equipment and techniques and is proactive in keeping up to date with industry practices, therefore work undertaken is cost effective and timely. Coal Engineering regularly reviews client requests for services to ensure we are equipped to offer competitive, up to-date facilities.

Bandsaw: The Hafco Bandsaw used in our workshop has the capability to cut 410mm UB sections or 320mm diameter hollow bar. It is an ideal piece of equipment for repetitive cutting when producing large batches of work. It’s time efficiency and accuracy make it ideal for jobs such as UB members for shed trusses and columns, as well as cutting RHS members for underground pods.

Geared Head Drill: The Hafco geared head drill is designed with multi-function of drilling, broaching, reaming, tapping and counterboring. With a strengthened capacity of drilling it allows jobs to be drilled with a larger range of size. It is suitable for both production and maintenance workshops. The geared head drill has been an ideal addition for jobs such as drilling Conveyor H Frame legs and Conveyor Stringers.

100T Punch and Shear: The Sunrise 100T punch and shear is a hydraulically powered metal shearing and punching machine that is equipped with flat bar shear, angle shear, round bar/square bar shear, notching and punching stations. It has the capability to punch 40mm diameter in 20mm plate. It very adequately meets the diversified needs of our business. The punch and shear has been an ideal piece of equipment for jobs such as punching base plates, notching corners on steel and cutting steel to length quickly.

100T Press: The Sahinler 100T Press is ideal for the repair of axles, shafts and press fit of bearings and bushings. With a pressing capacity of 100T, the strong hydraulic cylinder ensures precision during operation. It is fitted with a pressure gauge and safety overload valve. It has successfully pressed plate between 30mm to 40mm. It’s most recent job was pressing bushes into a wheel hub.

70T Press Brake: The Steelmaster 70T Press Brake is an ideal piece of equipment for sheet forming. It is widely used in various industries using advanced technology with a reliable performance. It has the functions of inching, single cycle and continuous operation. This is perfect for forming a radius on various steels. It has a 5mm capacity over 2.5m. This Press Brake has been ideal for jobs such as the fabrication of Coffin Seals.

Gantry Crane: The Eilbeck 10T gantry crane is a vital necessity to our engineering workshop. Pendant control operated, the gantry can move with ease across the width and length of our workshop. It enables jobs to be lifted and moved around the workshop, ensuring no manual handling of items of any significant weight.

Pipe Threader: The Rigid Pipe Threader is ideal for jobs requiring the threading of various lengths of black and galvanised pipe up to 4 inches. It was most recently used for threading 2 inch water pipe on a conveyor fire suppression system.

40m² Blast Booth: The Burwell Abrasive Blasting unit is a state of the art system which is designed to allow the abrasive material (steel grit) to be collected and separated from dust particles and reused, therefore reducing the environmental impact of our operations. We utilise steel grit to sand blast jobs both in preparation for refurbishment and to give a good finish on jobs about to be painted.

40m² Paint Booth: Coal Engineering’s workshop has a fully equipped, well lit, Truflow spray booth with extraction unit. Operators utilise the comfort of a compressed air fed breathing unit while working. Various applications are available, tailor-made to suit the client’s needs.

Bulldozer Bender: The 25Tonne Bulldozer Bender  is an electrically driven hydraulically operated steel bender. Primarily designed for bending flat bar sections, with additional tooling it can bend and Notch 25NB to 50NB pipe. making it idea for Bending Handrail sections etc.

Section Roller: The Section Roller is a motorised Section & Pipe rolling Machine which can roll Equal Angle, 25NB to 50NB Pipe, Flat Bar and RHS. Ideal for rolling Hose Reels etc.

Guillotine: 2.5m Hydraulic NC Guillotine allows for the fast cutting of sheet & plate up to 2.5m in width. Ideal for cutting large sheets required for Coffin Seals & Air Locks.
